    All I want to know is how to open 3 pictures using this program., This is far more advanced than I am ready to do.
    I purchased Adobe PhotoShop Elements 8 and watched 2 hours of videos and understand those but they never addresses how to get pictures that are sent as attachments to be connected to the program. I have looked for import, acquire, get, open, I have tried new but that typically means a project and while my issue may qualify, I do not think that they mean that by open.
    This would be fine, although I feel that I probably would always have difficulty and be confused after seeing your picture when you were finished with your collage. I could not see them as I would need them to be for my purposes but right now, I am single minded and need to get this problem solved that has taken up days of my life and I am tired of this waste of my time.

    Thank for this tutorial… I’m new in photo editing… I just want to know how to import a file in layer without affecting the size/dimensions of the background. See, what’s happening is after I get my background say with dimensions of 800×600, I import a file for my layer and the dimension is 1024×768. The things is my background resized on the canvass and you can see chessboard like background of the canvass. When I resize the imported file the back is no longer aligned with the canvass. How can I get it my background back to fit the actual size of my canvass?

    I hope you guys can help me with this one.

    @Sandra,

    Importing a photo directly from an attachment is, as far as I know, not possible with any program. You must first download the attached photos to your computer. This tutorial covers everything from there on.

    @Bella: If it’s working for you, you should be able to click “continue” for it to play the next part of the tutorial.

    I just want to say…Thank You!! for these tutorials. I’ve had paint.net downloaded for a few years, but only used it a few times because it just seemed to time consuming to figure out. Lately, I’ve decided to add some plug ins and start playing with this thing again. For those of us just starting out, these basic tutorials are wonderful!! It’s like having a light bulb go off over your head, or maybe just a major “duh”…either way, I appreciate all the work you guys put into this program for us beginners!!

    Seems a tad complicated. In Photoshop I open three or four pics together, change the resolution of them all to 300DPI,quickly crop them if need be, change the canvas size on one of them to 19 x 29 cm or whatever, then simply drag the other ones across. I can right click on each pic (layer) and position it by dragging to where I want it on the canvas.

    Now I don’t have Photosho. . and its doing my head in.

    It only works up to the ‘Layer Properties; part of the second image, then the ‘Next’ word is missing to go to the next step.

    Jackie, when you get to the “Layers Properties” and you can’t find the “Next” to click on, look right below where it should be. It’s there, but faint, for some reason. It will let you continue.
